o To maintain Tawuniya’s economic stability by providing recommendations on policy pricing guidelines, mapping price ranges to risk profiles, supporting development/testing of actuarial models and tools, and controlling contract risks.
o Advise on development of pricing frameworks, procedures, and policies ensuring alignment with best practices and relevant regulations.
o Coordinate with external regulators (i.e., SAMA, etc.) to identify latest pricing regulations, and propose appropriate integration plan to enable adoption of amendments within Motor internal departments.
- Actuary Model Development/Upkeep:
o Refine predictive factors and advise on pricing algorithms for descriptive/predictive demand and risk models to ease risk assessment and enable accurate premium calculation.
o Supervise implementation of demand models and operation of price optimization processes to ensure adequate policy pricing.
o Validate business requirements regarding analytical tools and dashboards, and follow up with Transformation and Technology throughout development and implementation cycles to ensure effectiveness of developed solutions.
o Follow up on testing of tools (i.e., system assessments, parameter assessments, etc.) and propose corrective actions to resolve critical discrepancies.
o Supervise contract portfolio monitoring activities ensuring adherence to defined timelines, advise on flagged high-risk contracts, and follow up to ensure timely submission of briefs to Underwriting teams for execution.
- Pricing Performance Management:
o Advise on performance management frameworks, including KPIs, targets, methods, etc., to enable performance assessments (e.g., pricing process efficiency, goal achievement ratio, etc.).
o Follow up on regular performance tests on pricing algorithms and propose appropriate corrective actions to rectify deficiencies/issues.
- Policies, Procedures and Processes:
o Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance productivity, attain high quality outputs, and cost-effective results in line with relevant regulatory requirements.
o Supervise day-to-day activities ensuring compliance with stipulated policies, procedures and processes, and escalate identified non-compliance cases.
o Participate in the acquisition and selection of potential new talent, and integration of new joiners and provide sufficient on the job training.
o Contribute to setting team members’ objectives, clarifying expectations, reviewing performance periodically, providing regular feedback, coaching, and confronting unsatisfactory behavior or performance.
o Support in identifying team members’ development requirements, and the evaluation of learning interventions’ effectiveness on performance.
o Contribute to managing team members working plans e.g., leaves, working hours and etc.
o Promote a productive working environment.
- Education and Qualification:
o A Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics or equivalent is required.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in actuarial or Pricing with preferably 1 year of experience in supervisory position.
o Experience with Emblem and Radar, especially in optimization.
