Job Summary:
The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards, codes, and regulations. The role involves inspecting materials, processes, and finished work on construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and documenting findings. The QA/QC Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining high-quality workmanship, minimizing rework, and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Monitoring:
- Perform routine inspections of construction activities, including materials, equipment, and workmanship, to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor construction processes to ensure adherence to building codes, health and safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Inspect and test incoming materials to ensure they meet required specifications before being used in construction.
2- Quality Control Testing:
- Conduct tests on construction materials such as concrete, steel, and soil to verify their quality and compliance with project standards.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party testing and inspections as required by the project specifications.
- Record and document test results, and provide recommendations to resolve any issues related to non-conforming materials or processes.
3- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed inspection records, including photos, test results, and reports of any deficiencies or deviations from standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports to update project managers and other stakeholders on the quality status of the project.
- Ensure that all non-compliance issues are documented, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in industry standards and regulations, ensuring the project remains compliant at all times.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to quality assurance and control.
5- Problem Resolution:
- Identify and address quality issues or defects, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work with contractors, engineers, and construction crews to resolve quality-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance construction quality and reduce the likelihood of defects or non-conformance.
6- Collaboration with Project Teams:
- Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide guidance and training to construction personnel on quality control procedures and standards.
- Attend project meetings to discuss quality issues and provide updates on quality performance.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control roles, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including measurement instruments and testing devices.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO, ASTM, ACI, ASME).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality control software.
