OVERALL SERVICE REQUIRMENT:

Manages Ma’aden projects Engineering function related to Civil fields for the Owners Team during the

whole cycle of project execution through EPCM/EPC and commissioning phases of the project.

Assists in developing project proposals that include defining project work

scope and schedule requirement

Establishes the work scope, prepares the budget and schedule, plans

the work, providing technical direction, and reports the work status

Plans, schedules and provides work direction as required for preparation

designs, possesses reports, correspondence and related data and

Formulates the design basis by collecting, analysing Civil information

and data relative to operating requirements, process, economic

considerations and such other pertinent factors

development of the project and addresses issues identified in the engineering

design phase

Assessment & Evaluation

Reviews and interprets plans, specifications, material proposals and

construction methods pertaining to civil works to ensure compliance to

contract requirements, national or international codes

Provides Technical support and review Project Management document

through project cycle

Ensures performing of required Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site

Acceptance Test (SAT) according with Ma’aden Engineering Standards

Training

Provides technical and coaching training for company junior Civil engineers Objective set through KPIs

Monitoring

Provides project monitoring of PMC/EPC/EPCM and construction contractors

to assure adherence to design documents and contract documents based on

Ma’aden Engineering Standards (MES)

Assists Project Manager with documentation controls, reports, deliverables,

and analysis of project costs

Construction & Execution

Participates in construction activities, pre-commissioning, commissioning and

function test activities for the new projects

Assists in the plan preparation acceptance testing, and evaluation of field

conditions, design changes, progress evaluations and reports

Follows up and inspects the construction progress of assigned projects

assuring conformance with design specifications, codes and standard,

recommend or confirm design changes material and equipment substitutes

Communication

Liaises with other project partners to achieve integrated planning across the

whole programme

Reporting

Develops technical and management reports which detail project related

performance and contribution in terms of Civil activities to highlight risks to

the project and plans to minimise their impact

Frequent contacts with immediate associates within same and other departments for project coordination

in person

Periodic contacts at department level regarding task review and progress of the project through personal

telephone and email communications

Occasional personal contacts with next higher levels in other departments regarding project

presentations

Skills

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

College/University Degree in Civil Engineering

10 years of experience including at least 5 years concentrated toward mining, petrochemical,

construction, heavy or high technology industries capital projects

Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods,

design details, international Codes, Standards and Specifications

Experience in Project risk management

Consecutive experience in managing projects

Must have a practical understanding of safety and environmental fundamentals and application

Must be able to communicate fluently in oral and written English

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to multi-task various assignments and

consistently meet project deadlines with positive organisational outcomes are required

Knowledge of reading and using project control tools (Primavera, MS Project, lcarso, etc,)
