OVERVIEWPosition Senior Civil Engineer Job Code Reports to Project Manager Direct Reports Division/Section Projects Department Projects Sector Job Family Role Purpose The Senior Civil Engineer will be managing construction projects, conducting site investigations, assessing risks, and ensuring safe project completion. Collaborating with stakeholders, providing technical expertise and overseeing structure implementation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIESKey Accountabilities & Activities Prepare civil engineering drawings to represent as-builts and/or proposed civil infrastructure. Manage multiple complex civil engineering projects. Preparation of construction specifications. Support business development initiatives. Prepare roadway plans, detail drawings, project specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates (PS&E). Guide design teams to achieve overall project objectives. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise. Prepare Project Risk Register with understanding of risk based decision making. Work closely with our design team for large civil work project delivery. Technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers in their project work and development. BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills and Experience5+ years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated Project Management skills including scheduling and budgeting and the ability to lead and mentor junior staff. Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Professional Office Suite including: Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point Working in an environment with people of different backgrounds, races and nationalities Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering, or related field.
