Procurement Specialist

Lawazem, an advanced construction supplies factory, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to oversee the acquisition of building materials. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining strong supplier relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our innovative projects in the construction industry. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Source and procure a wide range of building materials, including but not limited to concrete, steel, wood, insulation, and waterproofing materials.
  2. Negotiate favorable terms and prices with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
  3. Build and maintain a network of reliable suppliers capable of meeting the factory's diverse material requirements.
  4. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand project needs and timelines, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project milestones.
  5. Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to identify new suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and manage material procurement to minimize excess stock and optimize working capital.
  7. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for all procured materials.
  8. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to conduct inspections and address any issues related to material quality or performance.
  9. Analyze procurement data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance procurement operations.
  10. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and contractors to facilitate smooth procurement processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
Skills
  1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of building materials.
  3. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software for data analysis and reporting.
  7. Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  8. Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the quality and timely delivery of materials.
  9. Knowledge of quality assurance processes and standards relevant to building materials.
