PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Social Media & Motion Designer will provide end-to-end creative design support for our client's social media and digital channels, working directly with the client's Digital Marketing function on day-to-day briefs and deadlines, with creative outputs reviewed and approved by the client's Brand & Creative function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Short-form video and motion
- Concept, design, animate, and edit short-form vertical and square video for social feeds, including reels, shorts, and in-feed video, from supplied footage, stills, archive material, and design assets.
- Produce motion graphics including kinetic typography, animated data and infographics, logo and endframe animation, lower thirds, transitions, and title cards.
- Edit, grade, and finish video to broadcast-acceptable standard, including audio balancing, licensed music selection, and basic sound design.
- Produce burned-in and platform-native captions and subtitles in Arabic and English, timed and positioned for legibility on muted autoplay.
- Reframe a single piece of source material across aspect ratios and durations per platform without loss of composition or legibility.
- Build and maintain reusable motion templates, project files, and asset libraries for recurring formats.
Social-first design
- Design social posts, carousels, document posts, infographics, quote cards, greeting and occasion assets, announcement assets, and event assets for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Produce animated GIFs and looping assets optimised for file weight and platform playback.
- Design channel covers, banners, profile assets, and highlight assets.
- Design leadership and executive social content supporting the visibility of senior leadership.
- Adapt a single creative across every platform and both languages, maintaining composition, hierarchy, and brand integrity.
- Produce dark post and paid media creative to specification where required.
Editorial and long-form design
- Design long-form articles and thought-leadership content for the client's website, including layout, hero and section imagery, in-article graphics, data visualization, pull quotes, and end matter.
- Design the social expression of each long-form piece, including promotional assets, carousels, and video cut-downs.
- Design newsletter and email layouts and supporting social assets.
Craft, governance, and workflow
- Work within the client's approved brand system and social template library; extend it in coordination with Brand & Creative where a format requires it.
- Maintain current knowledge of platform specifications and adapt output as they change.
- Apply rigorous quality assurance before delivery: bilingual spelling and typography, safe areas, aspect ratios, file weight, colour, export settings, caption timing, and mobile playback.
- Schedule approved content into the client's publishing tool against the approved content calendar.
- Manage file organisation, version control, working files, source assets, and licensing records; hand over editable files on request.
- Manage multiple concurrent briefs, reactive requests, and event-day requirements against agreed service levels.
- Apply AI-enabled creative workflows where they improve speed or quality (versioning, upscaling, background removal, rotoscoping, localisation), subject to human quality control and client approval of tools used.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6 8+ years of experience in social media design, motion design, brand design, or in-house/agency creative roles.
- Arabic and English bilingual design capability is mandatory, including Arabic typography, right-to-left layout, animated Arabic type, bilingual lock-ups, and Arabic subtitling and captioning in video, designed to the same standard in both languages.
- Capability to operate independently without guidance from a Creative Director or Art Director, with strong creative judgment, ownership, and accountability from concept through delivery.
- Advanced proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, for motion design, video editing, grading, and finishing.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and working proficiency in Figma.
- Demonstrable command of short-form vertical video as a craft, including pacing, hook construction, on-screen text hierarchy, and legibility on muted autoplay.
- Current, working knowledge of the creative environment and technical specifications of LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Editorial and long-form design capability, including web article layout, information hierarchy, and data visualization.
- Experience managing a high-volume content calendar with concurrent briefs, reactive requests, and firm publication dates.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Able to work within Riyadh business hours (Sunday Thursday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.) and within a maximum three-hour time-zone difference from Saudi Arabia, with occasional availability outside normal hours.
