Role Description The Entomology Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Saudi Arabia, responsible for providing technical expertise on insects and other arthropods relevant to public health, sanitation, and environmental safety. Day-to-day tasks include conducting field inspections, identifying pest species, assessing levels of infestation, and recommending appropriate control measures and integrated pest management strategies. The specialist will develop and refine treatment protocols, prepare technical reports, maintain accurate records of inspections and interventions, and ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards. This role collaborates with operations teams and clients to train staff on pest identification and safe application methods, evaluate the effectiveness of control programs, and optimize practices based on scientific evidence and environmental considerations.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in entomology, vector biology, and pest ecology, with the ability to identify common public health and structural pests. Experience with integrated pest management (IPM), including environmental, biological, and chemical control methods and safety practices. Ability to conduct field surveys, collect and analyze samples, interpret data, and prepare clear technical documentation and reports. Knowledge of environmental health regulations, public health standards, and relevant local or international guidelines. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Entomology, Biology, Environmental Science, Public Health, or a related field. Effective communication skills to collaborate with operations teams, train staff, and interact with clients in a professional manner. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple site visits and projects simultaneously. Willingness to work in the field, including in varied environmental conditions, and to travel within Saudi Arabia as needed. Prior experience in pest control, environmental services, or public health programs is preferred. Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry, reporting, and documentation; familiarity with GIS or mapping tools is an advantage.
