About FAENA and the Housekeeping Public Area Supervisor Role

The organization is seeking a Housekeeping Public Area Supervisor to join its team in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Housekeeping Public Area Supervisor will be responsible for guiding the housekeeping line staff to ensure that all public spaces and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained to the luxury service standards of FAENA The Red Sea. This role involves leading a team of public area attendants to ensure lobbies, restaurants, restrooms, and all common spaces are spotless, well-maintained, and aligned with the elevated design and luxury standards of the property. The supervisor will manage staffing, conduct inspections, and facilitate training for line employees, setting an example and ensuring compliance with brand and regulatory standards.

Core Housekeeping Responsibilities

• Supervise all housekeeping activities for public spaces, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all guest and staff-accessible areas, including lobbies, elevators, corridors, restrooms, entrances, driveways, outlets, spa areas, back-of-house corridors, and service elevators.
• Develop and manage daily task checklists and cleaning schedules for Public Area Attendants, ensuring full coverage and timely completion of assignments.
• Ensure readiness of all high-traffic areas during key guest arrival, dining, and event periods, focusing on first impressions and high visibility areas.
• Assign cleaning tasks and areas to housekeeping line staff and monitor their performance.
• Inspect rooms, hallways, lobbies, and public areas for cleanliness and order.
• Manage lost & found, deep-cleaning projects, and VIP arrival preparations.

Operational Management and Quality Assurance

• Provide on-the-spot coaching, reinforce brand standards, and guide team members through daily operational requirements.
• Ensure proper usage, care, and storage of equipment, chemicals, and housekeeping tools, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate and supervise service assessments for outsourced maintenance contracts related to public spaces, including pest control, marble and wood polishing, carpet/upholstery shampooing, façade cleaning, and indoor plant care.
• Maintain updated inventories of all public area-related cleaning equipment, machinery, and consumables; flag irregularities and ensure timely replenishment.
• Conduct training sessions on cleaning methods, equipment uses, and safety procedures.
• Manage the stocking and ordering of cleaning supplies to ensure availability and budget compliance.
• Conduct quality inspections to uphold FAENA’s cleanliness, presentation, and Forbes 5-star service standards.
• Help develop training programs and facilitate onboarding of new team members.
• Monitor inventory of linens, amenities, and supplies, ensuring par levels and timely restocking.
• Support department compliance with health and safety regulations.

Guest Relations and Inter-Departmental Coordination

• Resolve any guest issues or complaints related to cleanliness in a timely and efficient manner.
• Prepare reports on departmental activities, staff performance, and resource utilization.
• Liaise with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
• Respond to guest service requests and manage in-room service recovery with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications and Work Type

Candidates for this full-time position should possess 5-10 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality sector, preferably in a luxury environment. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia.
