The Role: MEP Design Lead Mechanical

Egis is seeking an experienced MEP Design Lead Mechanical to join its dynamic engineering team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, within the Makkah region. This full-time leadership position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves overseeing the mechanical design aspects of critical airport infrastructure projects. The role ensures compliance with international standards and Saudi Building Code requirements, leading a team of mechanical engineers and designers, and driving innovation and excellence in MEP system design while managing complex coordination across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and design professionals on airport and aviation facility projects.
• Develop comprehensive mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems in airport environments.
• Manage the mechanical design phase from concept through construction documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and clash-free designs.
• Utilize BIM and advanced design software to create detailed mechanical models and construction documents.
• Ensure all designs comply with Saudi Building Code, international standards, and airport-specific requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare technical specifications, calculations, and design reports for airport projects.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to address design challenges and implement solutions.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets while maintaining design excellence.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in MEP design.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in MEP design, with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Advanced proficiency in MEP design software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of Saudi Building Code and international design standards.
• Expertise in BIM modeling and coordination.
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with airport-specific mechanical requirements.
