Role Description The Pharma Category Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Jeddah, responsible for leading and growing the pharmaceutical category within GSS Saudi Arabia. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing category strategies, managing product portfolios, and overseeing pricing, promotions, and assortment planning to drive sales and profitability. The role involves analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, and translating insights into actionable business plans. The Pharma Category Head collaborates closely with supply chain, marketing, sales, and finance teams to ensure product availability, effective campaigns, and efficient inventory management. This position also entails building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and partners, monitoring performance metrics, and continuously optimizing category performance in line with company objectives. Qualifications Strong expertise in pharmaceutical category management, including product portfolio planning, pricing, and promotion strategy. Proven ability to analyze market data, sales performance, and consumer trends, and convert insights into practical action plans. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance to deliver category goals. Solid knowledge of pharma industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in the Saudi Arabian market. Demonstrated skills in supplier relationship management, negotiation, and contract oversight. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present strategies and results to stakeholders. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage. Previous experience in category management or product management in pharma, healthcare, or FMCG is highly beneficial. Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus, along with familiarity with local market dynamics.
