We are seeking a qualified Transport Planner with between 5 to 7 years experience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East. The candidate must be a degree-qualified professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of traffic engineering, transport planning and traffic modelling experience in the Middle East. Your role This role requires contributing to a variety of transport planning studies including large scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies or multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors. Understanding of transport planning, traffic engineering and travel demand theory. Project experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local transport planning standards and practices. Practical understanding of the role and importance of transport planning in development access and citywide mobility plans. Experience in undertaking junction analysis to support the traffic impact assessments. Contribute to preparation of reports including existing conditions analyses, trip generation, junction analysis and parking assessments. Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both written and spoken. Must be able to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources. Must be able to work with limited supervision. Some experience project/financial management. Competence to assist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business as well as to sell Atkins services generally.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent is a must.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning.
• Knowledge of Middle East and International Transport Planning standards and procedures.
• Has worked within a team.
• Master's degree in transport planning or equivalent field is desirable.
