IT SPECIALIST
Role Aim:To ensure the effective operation, security, and reliability of all IT systems supporting aviationoperations, administrative functions, and customer-facing services. The IT Specialist plays acritical role in maintaining IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and ensuring seamlessintegration of aviation software and systems.
Performance Objectives: Provide technical support for hardware, software, networks, and aviation-specific IT systems. Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, routers, and network security systems. Manage user access, permissions, and system configurations in compliance with company and aviation regulations. Support aviation applications such as flight scheduling systems, maintenance tracking software, and electronic documentation systems. Perform regular system updates, backups, and disaster recovery testing. Troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions with minimal disruption to operations. Collaborate with operational departments to understand and support aviation-specific IT requirements. Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory standards such as GACA, FAA, or EASA (as applicable). Support the implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology integrations. Liaise with vendors and service providers for software licenses, hardware procurement, and system maintenance.
Recruitment and Criteria:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Mandatory). Industry certifications (e.g., Comp TIA, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Professional) are preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role. Experience in an aviation environment or with aviation-specific systems (e.g., AMOS, SITA, or airline ERP platforms) is highly desirable. Knowledge of aviation operational workflows is a strong advantage. Proficient in Windows/Linux server environments, networking, and cybersecurity protocols. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, data storage, and backup solutions. Familiarity with aviation communication systems and industry-related IT tools. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware/software/network issues. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced aviation environment. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
