ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.
• Lead the deployment and integration of the Health Information System (HIS), ensuring seamless interoperability with existing systems.
• Collaborate with IT and clinical staff to customize and configure systems according to organizational needs.
• Ensure data migration and system interfaces are executed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure HIS (Pearl Care System) complies with Saudi regulations, including CBAHI and MOH standards.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain compliance and address any gaps.
• Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and standards in Saudi Arabia.
• Oversee the management of health information data, ensuring its quality, accuracy, and security.
• Implement data protection measures in line with Saudi data privacy laws.
• Develop and enforce policies for data access, storage, and sharing.
• Provide training to healthcare staff on the use of HIS and Electronic Learning Systems.
• Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for system users.
• Develop user manuals and training materials.
• Manage HIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Coordinate with vendors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Prepare project reports and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements.
• Implement best practices for HIS usage and data management.
• Monitor system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Design and implement health information systems that align with healthcare organizations' needs and regulatory standards.
• Analyze existing health data systems to identify areas for improvement and recommend upgrades or optimizations.
• Ensure interoperability and integration of health information systems with other healthcare technologies.
• Provide expertise in data governance, privacy, and security to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to tailor informatics solutions that improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
• Conduct training sessions on new systems and informatics best practices for healthcare staff.
• Monitor and evaluate system performance, addressing any issues to optimize data accuracy and reliability.
• Develop and implement data analytics strategies to support evidence-based decision-making in clinical and administrative settings.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on informatics projects, providing insights to key stakeholders.
Education Requirements:Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or any related field.
Experience Requirements:Five (5) years of experience in a health information management role, preferably in healthcare or medical licensing sectors.
Other Requirements:Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Certification is required. Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS) is preferred. Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) is preferred. AMIA Health Informatics Certification (AHIC) is an advantage. Saudi Health Management Association (SHIMA) member is preferred. American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) member is an advantage.
