Job Purpose:
The Governance Expert is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the governance framework for the Authority. The Governance Expert will assist in developing and updating governance policies, guidelines, and codes of conduct, monitoring compliance with governance standards, and promoting a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Assist in the development and updating of governance policies, guidelines, and codes of conduct to ensure compliance with international best practices and local regulatory requirements.
- Support the Manager of Governance in monitoring compliance with governance standards within the Authority. Conduct reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to governance policies.
- Assist in the implementation of mechanisms for effective reporting and disclosure practices within the Authority. Ensure transparency in operations, financial reporting, and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Governance to provide support and advice to the Authority's board and executive management on governance matters, including board evaluations, governance audits, and the implementation of governance improvements.
- Contribute to the promotion of a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization. Assist in providing ethics training and participate in investigations of allegations of misconduct.
- Support efforts to promote transparency and accountability in the organization's operations and decision-making processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to governance, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience
- 5 years or more of relevant experience in governance.
- Experience in insurance management practices.
- Previous experience in government sector or regulatory bodies is preferred.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance or a related field.
- Relevant Insurance certification (e.g., GRCP, GRCA, CRMP) is preferred.
