Planning and Strategy
- Participate in the design and implementation of the Safety & Security department’s strategy and roadmap to support alignment with the Business Unit strategy.
- Establish the Safety & Security department’s plans and provide input that support Shared Services & Work Environment overall strategic plans.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify the Safety & Security department’s required projects to meet future business demands.
- Lead and drive the achievement of Safety & Security department's strategy, objectives, and KPIs within the accountabilities of the department.
- Develop regular reports on the department’s progress and outputs to be shared with relevant stakeholders in line with reporting requirements.
Budget Management
- Participate in the Safety & Security department’s budgeting cycle and provide input to the budgeting process.
- Ensure effective utilization of the Safety & Security department’s budget and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
- Investigate and propose implementing initiatives that result in a positive financial impact for the Safety & Security department and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Process Management
- Recommend improvements to the Safety & Security department’s policies and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of activity, ensuring relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high-quality and cost-effective results.
- Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
- Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.
People Management
- Identify, assess, and recruit key talent for the Safety & Security department.
- Manage and assist subordinates to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.
- Guide, mentor, and develop the Safety & Security department’s team as part of their continuous development.
- Set performance objectives, provide the necessary support, evaluate/appraise the team, and provide regular feedback on performance.
- Promote a high-performance working environment within the Facilities Engineering department.
JOB TECHNICAL ACCOUNTIBLITES
- Develop and implement Tahakom’s safety & security programs such as lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, fire protection, and other safety compliance programs.
- Advise the employees regarding safety & security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of the employees.
- Perform hazard analysis and recommend mitigation procedures to the organization.
- Develop and implement the department safety & security work by ordering tracking and reporting.
- Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, fire and smoke incidents, or unknown hazards; prepare reports of findings and submit recommendations.
- Investigate incidents and prepare related reports; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Coordinate emergency response capabilities and infrastructure to identify gaps or vulnerabilities, close gaps, and confirm best practice.
- Review and audit programs to verify Emergency Management adequacy.
- Administrate job safety programs and inspect to detect and correct safety hazards.
- Lead site changes to encourage performance expectations for safe behavior to guarantee employee safety.
- Manage and supervise the trainings processes of employees on safety& security aspects
- Establish annual, monthly, and weekly reports.
- Communicate with governmental entities in terms of Safety & Security.
- Establish, implement, and maintain security management system in accordance with local regulations.
- Hold responsibilities for department’s staffing and budgeting projections.
- Mentor resources and costs in day-to-day activities.
Skills
Knowledge & Experience 6 years and above of relevant experience in Safety & Security Management.
Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any other equivalent field is required
