Job Purpose:
The role of Director, Terminal Operations will oversee processes and SOPs for new Terminals. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Terminal Operations. You will be involved with ORAT testing and will work closely with the ORAT team. The Director, Terminal Integration will manage have design input into each of the new assets and will help to manage the baggage system (directly or through a contractor) and ensure adequate staff, baggage control room etc are in place. You will need a knowledge of Aviation Security too, as we will need to collaborate with the Security provider throughout the process. It is vital to ensure accessibility is taken into account in all design elements and is managed as the Terminals open, as we aim to provide barrier-free travel for all. There is also a significant people management aspect to this role, including recruitment, training and development of staff, as well as effective performance management. This role requires an aviation professional with experience of leading teams in a reputable international airport, and will require specific experience of Terminal Operations, Aviation Security and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Objectives:
- To ensure each new asset is fully ready to be operationalized and will be efficient. Participate in ORAT and user forums to accommodate feedback.
- Develop long-term operational strategies for each Terminal, aligning with the overall KSIADC vision
- Ensure high service quality across the Airport Operation whilst managing efficient customer flows
Organization, Resources, and Monitoring
- Utilize data-driven approaches to identify opportunities for operational improvements
- Create a reporting structure for the Terminal Managers to update all stakeholders on a daily basis
- Create an executive reporting format
Operational:
- Plan the likely operation of each terminal, ensuring adequate resources are in place to be successful.
- Monitor and manage the daily operation, including check-in, security, baggage and accessibility requirements, to ensure a best-in-class airport experience
People Management:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of Terminal Operations staff.
- Provide training, performance feedback and development opportunities to your team
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships with Airlines, Ground Handlers, Regulatory Authorities as well as all internal stakeholders
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum of ten years of experience within an Airport Operational Environment, with at least five of those years in a leadership role. Particular experience of managing in an Airport Terminal would be beneficial.
- Strong understanding of passenger flow, baggage handling, Airport Security and Airside Operations
- The ability to build and maintain relationships across a wide array of internal and external stakeholders
