Role Purpose

As Investigations Manager, you will independently manage and oversee the activities of the SpeakUp Investigations cases. You will provide analytical support to the Head of Investigations and team, always ensuring adequate coverage on investigations, providing analytical data and maintaining relevant recording systems. You will act as a point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders on all matters pertaining to the SpeakUp Investigations system. You will work with the SpeakUp Investigations team to support reporters and to provide services and support for those who raise concerns. You will support the development of end-to-end systems that includes empowering workers to speak out about wrongdoing; protecting whistleblowers who contribute to published reports of wrongdoing; supporting collaborative investigative reporting on wrongdoing; and, advocating for lasting change because of SpeakUp Investigations and the learning derived.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 to 9 years of recent and relevant investigation experience.
  • Required experience:
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Analytical skills to understand and apply research and statistics in report writing and decision-making.
    • Organizational skills to manage records and data and meet deadlines.
    • Advanced computer skills and experience with specific software and web-based systems, such as those used for whistleblowing, report writing and case management.
    • Able to support the development of colleagues.
  • Qualifications sought
    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or higher qualification.
    • CFE or equivalent qualification.
Key Accountabilities & Activities

Key Investigations Responsibilities

  • Contribute to SpeakUp Investigations program management, support the short-term and long-term strategy and policies, develop a robust process for selecting and supporting whistleblowers in collaboration with the SpeakUp Investigations management and team.
  • Conducts and/or assists with complex investigations concerning violations of NEOM policies and/or other allegations of misconduct directed against the NEOM and/or its people.
  • Prepare investigative reports, written work product, communications and/or other legal documents associated with investigations.
  • Ensure that legal parameters are followed when working with whistleblowers, work directly with whistleblowers, in coordination with the SpeakUp Investigations Team.
  • Liaise, in coordination with the Head of Investigations, with stakeholders to advocate for lasting change based on SpeakUp Investigations.
  • Serves as one of the primary points of initial contact on any matter directed to SpeakUp Investigations; independently researches and prioritizes incoming issues and determines appropriate course of action, referral, and/or response.
  • Working within legal guidelines when gathering information about individuals or investigating misconduct.
  • Interviewing individuals who may be able to provide information about a case being investigated.
  • Receives, screens, evaluates, and determines appropriate response to all written correspondence received and independently formulates and disseminates written responses.
  • Manages special programs for SpeakUp Investigations, some of which may have NEOM-wide impact, oversees the planning and coordination of key special events for the Speak-up program.
  • Provides assistance in the understanding and interpretation of NEOM policies and procedures, as appropriate, and ensures that SpeakUp Investigations process and office operations are in compliance with policy provisions and standards.
