Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist with expertise in the hotel industry to oversee purchasing activities for a new hotel project. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and have proven experience in sourcing furniture and other related goods and services from both domestic and international suppliers. Knowledge of bank L/Cs, customs, and clearance processes, as well as an established network of suppliers, is essential. A CIPS certification is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement efforts for the hotel, including sourcing and purchasing of furniture, goods, and services.
- Ensure all procurement activities are in line with hotel project timelines and budgets.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database, both local and international, to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
- Oversee the entire procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, managing shipping logistics, and ensuring smooth customs clearance when required.
- Handle bank L/Cs (Letters of Credit) and manage all financial documentation related to procurement.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., design, operations) to understand specific project needs.
- Ensure compliance with hotel industry standards and company policies throughout the procurement process.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry standards, and any changes in customs or regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development of procurement strategies for future projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Admin, Computer science or any related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proven experience in procurement within the hotel industry, particularly in sourcing furniture and related goods and services.
- Hands-on experience in purchasing goods from both domestic and international suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of bank L/Cs and financial documentation.
- Familiarity with customs and clearance processes is a plus.
- Certified CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Extensive network and comprehensive database of local and international suppliers.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working on large-scale hotel projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple procurement processes simultaneously.
