Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Performance Audit Expert to lead and oversee complex audit engagements aimed at improving the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of government and private sector operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of performance audit principles, extensive experience in managing large-scale audit projects, and a proven track record of delivering actionable insights that drive significant improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Planning and Strategy:
- Lead the strategic planning and design of performance audits, ensuring alignment with the organization’s objectives and relevant audit standards, including ISSAI 300.
- Identify high-impact audit topics through risk analysis and problem assessments.
- Develop comprehensive audit plans, including defining objectives, audit scope, methodologies, and criteria.
Audit Execution:
- Oversee the collection and analysis of audit evidence, ensuring it is sufficient, appropriate, and aligned with the audit objectives.
- Manage audit teams to conduct audits efficiently, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the audit process, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and review detailed audit reports, ensuring they are comprehensive, convincing, and clearly communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector entities, and other relevant parties, to communicate audit findings and promote the implementation of recommendations.
- Ensure that audit reports are distributed widely and appropriately to maximize impact and credibility.
Follow-up and Impact Assessment:
- Conduct follow-up audits to assess the implementation of recommendations and the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Analyze trends and themes across multiple audits to provide strategic insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor audit teams, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Collaborate with senior management to build audit capacity within the organization and ensure the audit function is equipped to meet future challenges.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, SOCPA) is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in performance auditing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Skills:
- Deep knowledge of performance audit principles and methodologies, particularly ISSAI 300 and related standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with experience in presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale audit projects, including resource allocation, risk management, and quality control.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and developing audit professionals.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in government auditing, particularly within the context of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
- Familiarity with industry best practices in operational excellence and transformation initiatives.
