Director of Communications Operations<br/><br/>GG14<br/><br/>Riyadh<br/><br/>JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.
We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.<br/><br/>BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.<br/><br/>JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES<br/><br/>The director of Communications Operations role is a key member of the BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Communications team, reporting into the Communications Director.
The role holder will work with the Communications Director to interpret business strategy and significantly contribute to the development and implementation of the KSA Communications strategy and plan.
The role holder will support the Communications Director in regularly assessing the communications landscape, advising of changes and opportunities presented by new trends, technologies, channels and capabilities.
The role holder will support the Director in the the coordinaton and collaboration with the KPC communications leads, ensuring aligment where appropriate and offering support as needed in pursuit of common goals, and to protect and promote BAE Systems reputation in Kingdom.
The role holder will lead in managing the Company's corporate reputation related to sensitive UK-KSA topics working in collaboration with Legal and Air UK / Plc Communications teams.
The role will lead in managing communications specifically tailored to the needs of Expatriates, including those relating to our residential compounds.
The role requires excellent and broad Communications knowledge and experience plus a detailed appreciation and understanding of the business, market and key competitors
The delivery of the role will require significant stakeholder management, particularly focused on the SHE, security, legal, support and facilities management teams.
The post holder will act as a deputy for the Communications Director when required, and can be called upon to deliver functional tasks and activities commensurate with their necessary skill set.<br/><br/>RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION<br/><br/>The role typically requires a degree either in media, internal communications, external communications, marketing communications, journalism or other related discipline.
Communications experience, three years of which is in a management role in a midsize organization preferably in the aviation/defence/media industry
CIPR/CiB or similar qualifications in Communications
The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of Communications disciplines and how their respective processes and resources interact with other areas to achieve functional objectives. A good understanding of the industry and commercial awareness is required to understand the relative positioning of the Company's products and services versus the competition.
The role could encompass the management of numerous teams. There will be financial accountability for independent budgets at a subfunctional level. Management at this level usually implies the leadership of a team of professionals.
The role evaluates (sometimes complex) situations using multiple sources of information referring to a diverse range of internal and external sources such as procedures and practices (in other teams, areas or companies etc). The complexity implied relate to the ability to think strategically and filter, prioritise, analyse and validate potentially complex issues.
The role has an impact on the business by exercising control over resources, policy formulation and planning. They have accountability for end results.
