Role Purpose: NEOM’s Education, Research, and Innovation (ERI) sector aims to establish an adaptable lifelong education system utilizing advanced, personalized learning tools and drive the research and innovation ecosystem essential for NEOM’s innovation economy. Education, research, and innovation serve as crucial catalysts for economic and social advancement, ensuring that all NEOM residents have access to continuous education and training opportunities. The ERI Foundation (ERIF) will act as a hub connecting innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, service providers, academics, and students to foster NEOM’s position as a global innovation hub. The Manager of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and research regulations within NEOM’s ERI sector. They will develop and implement policies, processes, and systems to maintain compliance with national and international regulations, focusing on environmental protection, health, and safety standards. Key Accountabilities & Activities: 1. Develop assurance/facilitation processes for legal compliance with EHS regulations in the ERI R&I portfolio. 2. Establish and update the EHS policy framework, policies, processes, and systems within the ERIF governance framework. 3. Manage EHS risk assessment processes and ongoing risk assessment in collaboration with ERI stakeholders. 4. Implement and improve ERIF training and education in EHS and ensure uptake across all levels of ERI operations. 5. Facilitate emergency preparedness and responses, including testing emergency preparedness procedures. 6. Lead EHS incident investigations, document and report incidents to senior ERIF management and relevant stakeholders. 7. Foster collaboration and communication with stakeholders to ensure compliance with EHS requirements. 8. Oversee EHS compliance in ERIF facilities, including facility inspections, waste management, and safety inductions. 9. Manage the EHS budget and staffing in consultation with senior ERIF management. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: – Extensive experience and expertise in EHS management in an educational/research setting. – Proficiency in analytical and quantitative skills, with a background in EHS management systems. – Advanced stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a focus on implementing and improving EHS frameworks. – Familiarity with data privacy regulations and ethical considerations related to EHS. – Previous leadership experience in EHS within research, preferably in higher education. – Ability to assess and manage risks, develop strategies, plans, and policies to foster a safe working culture. Qualifications: Required: – Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, preferably in STEM, R&I ethics and administration, or law. Preferred: – Master’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years’ postgraduate experience. – Professional EHS certifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
