About the Procurement Manager position We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement processes within the construction industry, with a focus on sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should be well-versed in all supply chain methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. An analytical mind and great organizational skills are also required. Procurement Manager Responsibilities Are:
- Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies to support construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Supplier Identification and Management: Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.
- Material Sourcing and Purchasing: Source and purchase construction materials and equipment in accordance with project requirements and budgetary constraints. Coordinate with project managers to determine material needs and timelines.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Analyze procurement costs and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Develop and manage procurement budgets for construction projects.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues. Implement contingency plans to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that purchased materials and services meet project specifications and industry standards. Address any quality issues or non-conformities in a timely manner.
- Vendor Performance Evaluation: Monitor vendor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and contractual obligations. Conduct periodic vendor reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing procurement practices in the construction sector. Stay updated on changes in regulations and incorporate them into procurement processes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and correspondence. Generate regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and vendor performance metrics.
Procurement Manager Requirements Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement department within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and suppliers.
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
