Job description
We are seeking a seasoned Project Director / Construction Director to lead the execution, testing, commissioning, and handover of a major, complex stadium project. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with top-tier international or regional main contractors, a background in joint venture management, and a track record of delivering mega-scale venue developments.
Preferred Candidate Profile & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience working with major international or regional contractors.
- At least 5 years in a high-level executive role (e.g., Project Director, Deputy Project Director, or Construction Director) managing large, complex building projects.
- Stadium/Venue Expertise: Proven experience delivering a major stadium or similarly complex high-profile venue, overseeing the complete lifecycle from construction through testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Main/Managing Contractor Background: Strong track record leading for a Main Contractor or Managing Contractor, including integrating multiple work-package contractors and specialist subcontractors.
- Joint Venture Experience: Prior experience operating within a major Joint Venture structure, with a demonstrated ability to represent partner interests while maintaining collaborative relationships.
- Regional Experience: KSA or GCC mega-project experience is strongly preferred.
- Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

- Stakeholder Management: Outstanding client-facing skills with proven experience interfacing with senior Employer representatives, Program Management Consultants, design teams, and local government authorities.
- Team Leadership: Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire, and drive a large, multicultural, and multidisciplinary project team in a high-pressure environment.

- Proficient in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, to effectively lead diverse engineering projects.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards achieving common goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise interactions with stakeholders at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, ensuring technical accuracy in project execution.
- Proficient in using project management software tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera for effective planning and tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Experience in budget management and financial forecasting to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
