Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipe Fabricator to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and assembling piping systems and structural components according to strict isometric blueprints and industrial safety specifications.
Key Responsibilities & Duties Blueprint Reading: Interpret and analyze advanced isometric drawings, piping layouts, blueprints, and weld maps to determine accurate dimensions, material requirements, and assembly sequences. Layout & Fit-Up: Measure, mark, layout, and fit pipes and components precisely to ensure alignment, correct angles, and compliance with project tolerances before final welding. Cutting & Preparation: Utilize industrial tools (including torches, plasma cutters, saws, beveling machines, and grinders) to cut, thread, groove, and bevel piping materials. Material Handling: Work safely with a wide variety of piping materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and galvanized pipes. Tack-Welding: Perform secure tack-welding to temporarily hold pieces in position for structural integrity prior to final production welding. Quality & Safety Assurance: Perform quality self-checks using calipers, gauges, and tape measures. Adhere strictly to plant safety guidelines, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols, and PPE compliance.
Job Requirements & Qualifications Education & Certifications Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma, Technical School Certificate, or ITI (Industrial Training Institute) credential in Pipe Fabrication, Structural Fitting, or Mechanical Trades. Preferred: Valid industry certifications or third-party approvals (e.g., Aramco-approved or TUV certified testing status is a strong asset).
Experience Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience as a Pipe Fabricator within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Heavy Industrial Construction fields.
Technical Expertise & Skills Proficient in reading and translating complex isometric drawings and mechanical schematics. Expert handling of fabrication hand tools, shop machinery, and measurement instruments. Good understanding of welding symbols, joint configurations, and standard piping specifications (ASME/ANSI codes). Strong spatial reasoning, mathematical capability (for calculating angles and offsets), and manual dexterity. Basic command of the English language (spoken and readable technical instructions).
