Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
I&C Installation Inspection Inspect installation of field instruments, transmitters, switches, gauges, control valves, analyzers and related equipment. Inspect instrument tubing, impulse lines, manifolds and fittings. Inspect cable trays, conduits, junction boxes and instrument marshalling cabinets. Verify installation, tagging, orientation, accessibility and identification of instruments. Inspect instrument and control cables, including routing, termination, glanding and earthing. Inspect installation of PLC/DCS/ESD panels, cabinets and associated equipment. Verify installation against approved IFC drawings, P&IDs, instrument index and cable schedules.
Quality Control & ITPPerform inspections in accordance with approved ITPs, checklists and method statements. Conduct Hold Point, Witness Point and surveillance inspections as required. Verify that construction activities comply with approved project specifications and procedures. Review inspection requests (IRs) and verify readiness before inspection. Raise and follow up NCRs, observations and punch items where required. Verify corrective actions and close-out of quality findings.
Testing & Calibration Witness and verify calibration of pressure, temperature, flow and level instruments. Inspect continuity, insulation resistance and loop testing. Witness instrument loop checks from field devices to DCS/PLC/ESD systems. Verify functional testing of control valves, actuators and associated accessories. Witness testing of alarms, interlocks, trips and shutdown systems where applicable. Verify calibration certificates and test records.
Documentation:Review inspection and test records for completeness and compliance. Maintain inspection reports, calibration records, test certificates and checklists. Verify As-Built drawings and red-line markups. Maintain I&C quality dossiers and turnover documentation. Support preparation of Mechanical Completion and Commissioning dossiers. Ensure traceability of instruments and equipment through tagging and documentation.
CCGT-Specific Responsibilities The Inspector may be required to cover I&C installations associated with:Gas Turbine and Generator systems HRSG systems Steam Turbine and Generator DCS / PLC / ESD systems Gas and steam systems Water Treatment and Demineralization Cooling Water systems Condensate and Feedwater systems Fuel Gas systems Electrical protection/control interfaces Plant auxiliary systems Fire & Gas systems CEMS / environmental monitoring systems Balance of Plant (BOP) instrumentation.
Standards & Requirements Ensure compliance with applicable:Project specifications and Employer/Owner requirements Approved IFC drawings and P&IDsInstrument Datasheets and Instrument Index ITPs and Method Statements IEC standards ISA standards API standards where applicable NFPA requirements where applicable NEC/local electrical requirements where applicable Manufacturer/vendor requirements EPC Contractor QA/QC procedures
Coordination:Coordinate daily with I&C construction engineers, supervisors and subcontractors. Interface with EPC QA/QC Engineers and Owner/PMC inspectors. Coordinate with commissioning and pre-commissioning teams. Participate in quality meetings and inspection coordination meetings. Support resolution of technical and quality issues at site. Ensure timely inspection and release of completed works.
Minimum Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Electronics, 2. Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Typically 5–8 years of relevant QA/QC experience, preferably in power generation or CCGT projects. Experience in large-scale power plant construction is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of instrumentation installation, calibration, loop checking and control systems. Experience working with EPC contractors and Owner/PMC inspection teams.
Required Competencies Strong knowledge of I&C construction and inspection activities. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, Instrument Datasheets, Loop Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Schedules and Hook-up Drawings. Knowledge of DCS, PLC and ESD systems. Knowledge of instrument calibration and testing. Strong NCR and punch-list management skills. Good understanding of QA/QC documentation and turnover requirements. Strong communication and coordination skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. Good knowledge of MS Office and relevant QA/QC systems.
