About the Role
BORDEAUX plus, a Canadian urban design and planning consultancy with projects across North America and the Middle East, is establishing its Saudi Arabia branch under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and ongoing national urban development initiatives.
We are seeking a Saudi national to serve as Country Director – Saudi Arabia, responsible for establishing, leading, and expanding our operations across the Kingdom. This role is intended to evolve into equity partnership following proven performance and successful branch establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment of the Saudi branch in alignment with Ministry of Investment (MISA) and sector-specific regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the firm’s local representative, overseeing licensing, approvals, and compliance with MOMRAH, SCE, and municipal authorities.
- Build and expand relationships with government agencies, master developers, municipalities, engineering firms, and private clients.
- Lead and review urban design, planning, and architectural projects, ensuring alignment with Saudi municipal requirements and Vision 2030 objectives.
- Oversee recruitment, operational setup, local staffing, and business development.
- Represent BORDEAUX plus in meetings, tenders, design reviews, and high-level consultations.
- Collaborate closely with the Canadian head office to deliver exceptional design and planning services across the Kingdom.
Skills
- Saudi Nationality (required for administrative and regulatory leadership).
- Strong understanding of Saudi municipal regulations, planning frameworks, and approval processes.
- Knowledge of MISA, MOMRAH, and SCE procedures related to consultancy licensing and practice.
- 10–15 years of experience in urban design, planning, architecture, or engineering within Saudi Arabia.
- Established professional network with municipalities, developers, engineering consultancies, and authorities.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or overseeing operations.
- Strong communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Ability to lead business development, secure new projects, and represent the firm in high-level engagements.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving ability, and an entrepreneurial mindset suitable for a future partnership role.
