Job Details

Conduct daily inspections of mechanical works for the renovation of a high-rise, five-star hotel. Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, Saudi Building Code, and applicable international standards. Inspect HVAC ductwork, supports, insulation, dampers, flexible connections, air terminals, and equipment connections. Inspect chilled-water piping, valves, insulation, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and associated mechanical equipment. Verify acoustic insulation and vibration-control measures for guestrooms, suites, and public areas. Inspect domestic hot- and cold-water systems, drainage, vent piping, cleanouts, and plumbing fixtures. Verify drainage slopes, pipe routing, connections, and rough-in locations for guestrooms, kitchens, and public facilities. Inspect fire-fighting pipework, sprinkler heads, landing valves, hose reels, fire pumps, and related equipment. Witness hydrostatic and pressure testing of chilled-water, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems. Inspect approved materials and equipment upon delivery and verify their correct storage, protection, and installation. Review and respond to mechanical Requests for Inspection and maintain accurate supporting records. Identify defective or non-compliant work and initiate inspection comments or Non-Conformance Reports. Monitor corrective actions and reinspect completed rectification works. Coordinate inspections with the Mechanical Engineer, MEP team, contractor supervisors, and testing crews. Assist in witnessing flushing, cleaning, disinfection, air balancing, water balancing, and system commissioning. Maintain daily inspection reports, photographs, test results, and site observations. Support snagging, de-snagging, as-built verification, and final handover activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Diploma or bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration in the applicable Technician or Engineering category is mandatory. Minimum 12 years of mechanical inspection experience on building construction projects. Proven experience in high-rise buildings, five-star hotels, luxury hospitality projects, or major MEP renovations. Practical experience inspecting HVAC, chilled-water, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems. Experience with high-rise MEP retrofits, chilled-water plants, and brownfield renovation works. Strong knowledge of SMACNA, IPC, NFPA, Saudi Building Code, and applicable mechanical standards. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, specifications, and approved method statements. Experience witnessing pressure tests, flushing, disinfection, air balancing, water balancing, and commissioning activities. Familiarity with acoustic requirements and vibration-control measures for luxury hospitality projects. Previous experience working with an engineering consultancy or construction supervision consultant. Ability to prepare accurate inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and photographic records. Experience in Madinah Central Area or similarly congested and sensitive locations is preferred. Good written and spoken English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
