To manage and coordinate the company’s transportation operations efficiently, safely, and profitably while ensuring timely vehicle deployment, driver performance, customer satisfaction, and compliance with Saudi regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations Management
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transportation activities.
Allocate vehicles and drivers according to customer requirements and schedules.
Ensure timely pickup, delivery, loading, and unloading.
Monitor daily trips, routes, and vehicle utilization.
Fleet Management
Maintain proper control of all company vehicles and equipment.
Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, mileage, fuel consumption, and downtime.
Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and vehicle servicing.
Minimize vehicle breakdowns and operational downtime.
Driver Management
Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with company policies.
Prepare driver duty schedules and trip assignments.
Monitor driver attendance, performance, working hours, and behavior.
Ensure drivers have valid licenses, permits, and required documentation.
Conduct regular driver briefings on safety and operational procedures.
Route & Trip Planning
Plan efficient routes to reduce fuel consumption, travel time, and operating costs.
Monitor trips using GPS/tracking systems where available.
Handle delays, breakdowns, route issues, and other operational problems promptly.
Customer & Delivery Coordination
Coordinate transportation requirements with customers and internal departments.
Ensure deliveries are completed according to agreed schedules.
Handle customer complaints and resolve transportation-related issues.
Maintain good relationships with key customers and transport partners.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all transportation activities comply with Saudi traffic, transport, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Implement company health and safety procedures.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and vehicle damage and prepare reports.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe loading/unloading procedures.
Cost Control
Monitor fuel, maintenance, overtime, tolls, subcontracting, and other transportation expenses.
Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs without compromising service quality.
Monitor cost per trip, cost per kilometer, and vehicle profitability where applicable.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, fuel, maintenance, accidents, and vehicle utilization.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transportation reports.
Track KPIs such as:
On-time delivery %
Vehicle utilization %
Fuel consumption
Vehicle downtime
Maintenance cost
Number of trips
Accident/incident rate
Customer complaints
Team Coordination
Coordinate with Logistics, Warehouse, Sales, Trading, Finance, HR, and Maintenance departments.
Supervise transport coordinators, dispatchers, drivers, and other operational staff.
Allocate responsibilities and ensure proper shift coverage.
Emergency & Problem Management
Respond quickly to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, delivery delays, customer issues, and other emergencies.
Arrange replacement vehicles or drivers when required.
Maintain contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in transportation/fleet operations, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
Strong knowledge of fleet and driver management.
Good knowledge of Saudi transportation and traffic regulations.
Experience with GPS/fleet tracking and transport management systems is preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vehicles/trips simultaneously.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and reporting.
