Role Description The Shop Engineer – Mechanical Fabrication is a full-time, on-site role based in Al Khobar. The role involves overseeing mechanical fabrication activities in the workshop, including the design, layout, and assembly of components for water and wastewater treatment systems. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, preparing fabrication plans, coordinating with procurement and production teams, and ensuring that all fabricated equipment meets quality, safety, and performance standards. The Shop Engineer will supervise workshop technicians, monitor workflow, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and support installation and commissioning activities as needed. The role also includes maintaining documentation, optimizing fabrication processes, and collaborating with engineering and project teams to deliver projects on schedule.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with practical experience in mechanical fabrication and equipment assembly. Proficiency in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for creating and modifying mechanical drawings and shop details. Experience in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and adherence to timelines and budgets. Ability to contribute to Research and Development (R&D) efforts to improve fabrication methods, equipment performance, and product reliability. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems and related mechanical equipment is highly beneficial. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide and support workshop teams. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; prior experience in industrial or environmental equipment fabrication is an advantage.
