Senior Risk Engineering Consultant Commercial Risk Solutions / Risk Engineering Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (On-site)
Aon is looking for a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant in our Commercial Risk/Risk Engineering department based on a full time basis from our offices in Jeddah.
The Senior Risk Engineering Consultant supports Aon clients in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, property, and business risks. The role involves conducting risk assessments, site surveys, loss prevention evaluations, and providing risk improvement recommendations to enhance clients' resilience, reduce losses, and support effective insurance placement and risk transfer solutions. The consultant acts as a trusted advisor to clients while working closely with brokers, insurers, and technical specialists. Based on Aon’s risk engineering practices, the role focuses on helping clients understand and improve their risk exposures, develop risk management strategies, and support business continuity and operational resilience.

Within Commercial Risk, Aon supports clients in understanding, managing, and transferring risk through data-driven insights, risk engineering, and insurance placement strategies.
Key Responsibilities Risk Assessment & Surveying Conduct property risk engineering assessments across client locations. Perform site visits and risk engineering surveys to identify potential hazards and operational vulnerabilities. Evaluate fire protection systems, maintenance practices, business continuity measures, and loss prevention controls. Assess exposure to property damage, business interruption, machinery breakdown, and operational risks. Conduct construction risk engineering surveys in line with insurance market requirements/ Develop Estimated Maximum loss values to support insurance placement requirements. Review process safety controls, integrity programs and critical equipment risks. Evaluate exposures associated with Business Interruption and Machinery breakdown.
Risk Analysis & Reporting Develop comprehensive risk control engineering reports. Prepare risk improvement recommendations and action plans. Support risk quantification activities and evaluation of potential loss scenarios, such as EML and MFL. Monitor implementation of recommendations and assess progress
Client Advisory Advise clients on risk mitigation strategies and operational resilience improvements. Support clients in complying with insurance, regulatory, and industry requirements. Provide industry benchmarking and best-practice guidance. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and risk workshops
Insurance & Broking Support Collaborate with broking teams to support insurance placement and renewal processes. Prepare and present risk engineering submissions to insurers and underwriters, clearly articulating key exposures and risk improvement measures. Assist insurers and underwriters by supplying risk engineering information and analyses. Contribute to achieving improved insurance terms and risk transfer outcomes.tcomes. Support business development activities including proposals, client pitches, and technical presentations as and when required.
Relationship Manegement Act as a trusted risk advisor to key clients, providing technically sound and commercially relevant guidance. Build strong relationships with clients, insurers, surveyors, and internal stakeholders, by leading client discussions. Work closely with regional and global Aon risk engineering teams. Promote Aon’s Risk Engineering and Risk Consulting capabilities to clients. There may be occasional situations where supporting other offices in KSA and international surveys may be required.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead to Success
Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Civil, construction or related discipline. Professional engineering certification is preferred. Relevant risk engineering, loss prevention, HSE, property risk, or industrial operations experience is preferred.
Experience Minimum eight years’ experience at Risk Consultant level. with proven ability to lead site surveys independently and engage directly with clients and insurers. Experience in engineering operations, risk management, insurance risk surveying, manufacturing, energy, construction, or industrial sectors is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies Risk assessment and analytical skills Report writing and technical documentation Client relationship management Presentation and communication skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of industrial safety, fire protection, and business continuity principles Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Fluent in English and Arabic Familiarity with international standards (NFPA, FM Global, API, ISO).
