Role Description The Filipino Cook is responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking authentic Filipino dishes for AYTB’s catering operations in Cadiz. This full-time, on-site role includes daily tasks such as menu execution, ingredient preparation, cooking and plating meals, and ensuring consistent taste, presentation, and portion control. The cook monitors food quality and freshness, follows hygiene and safety standards, and maintains cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas. The role involves coordinating with kitchen staff, assisting in inventory checks, and reporting any shortages or equipment issues to supervisors. The Filipino Cook may also support menu development, special events, and adjustments to recipes based on guest feedback and dietary requirements.
Qualifications
Strong experience in Filipino cuisine, including a wide range of traditional and regional dishes, with the ability to adapt recipes for large-scale catering. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards, and proven adherence to hygiene and safe kitchen practices. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment, including skills in time management, multi-tasking, and maintaining quality under pressure. Basic inventory and stock management skills, including checking deliveries, storing ingredients properly, and minimizing food waste. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with diverse colleagues and follow instructions from kitchen supervisors. Previous experience as a cook or chef in catering, hotel, restaurant, or industrial kitchen settings, preferably within large-scale operations. Willingness to work in Cadiz on-site, with flexibility regarding shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs. Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage, though equivalent practical experience will be considered. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform manual kitchen tasks safely.
