Role Description The Crane Rigger role is a full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting heavy lifting and crane operations for major infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and inspecting lifting gear, rigging loads according to lift plans, and signaling or directing crane operators to ensure safe and efficient movement of materials. The Crane Rigger will assess load weight and balance, select appropriate lifting equipment, attach and secure loads, and verify that all operations comply with site safety procedures and regulatory standards. The role also involves collaborating closely with supervisors, engineers, and equipment operators, participating in toolbox talks, maintaining rigging logs and inspection records, and assisting in the setup and demobilization of cranes and related lifting equipment as required by project activities.
Qualifications
Proficiency in lifting operations, including planning, rigging, signaling, and load control for complex construction activities. Experience working with heavy equipment in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects, ensuring safe coordination around operational machinery. Strong knowledge of lifting equipment such as slings, shackles, hooks, spreader beams, and related rigging gear, including proper selection and use. Ability to perform thorough inspections of rigging equipment and cranes, identify defects, and maintain accurate records in line with safety standards. Familiarity with different types of cranes and their operating limitations, load charts, and site-specific lifting procedures. Relevant certification or training in rigging and lifting operations (e.g., recognized rigging/hoisting certifications or equivalent national qualifications). Understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and safe work practices in construction environments.
