Roles & Responsibilities

Role Purpose

Lead the strategy, operation, and governance of the organization's Data Platform and Data Management functions to deliver a secure, scalable, and robust analytics platform while ensuring compliance with Saudi data regulations, governance standards, KPIs, budgets, and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop vision, strategy, and roadmap for Data Platform & Data Management.

• Lead enterprise data governance initiatives.

• Implement Saudi data regulations (SDAIA, NDMO, NCA).

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement.

• Align technical teams with business objectives.

• Plan analytics platform capabilities.

• Manage PMO for enterprise data governance.

• Ensure regulatory compliance.

Planning & Budget

• Develop departmental operational plans.

• Support annual budgeting.

• Monitor KPIs and financial performance.

• Mitigate operational and financial risks.

Operational Leadership

• Lead Data Engineers, Analytics Developers, Architects, Infrastructure & Network Engineers.

• Mentor and coach engineering teams.

• Conduct performance reviews.

• Build career development plans.

• Recruit and retain top talent.

• Manage department productivity and project pipeline.

Executive & Stakeholder Management

• Present reports to senior leadership.

• Work closely with C-suite executives.

• Drive stakeholder engagement.

• Promote analytics adoption.

• Manage executive expectations.

• Secure business buy-in for analytics initiatives.

Analytics Solution Management

• Lead analytics product development.

• Guide software engineering teams.

• Develop analytics solution roadmaps.

• Ensure scalable and reliable analytics platforms.

• Measure business value of analytics initiatives.

• Identify new analytics opportunities.

Engineering Management

• Define enterprise Data Platform architecture.

• Implement Agile methodologies.

• Lead DevOps and CI/CD adoption.

• Establish engineering standards.

• Manage technical debt.

• Improve system performance and scalability.

• Conduct architecture and code reviews.

• Monitor project risks and delivery.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate emerging technologies.

• Pilot new tools and platforms.

• Promote knowledge sharing.

• Organize innovation sessions.

• Support certifications and technical training.

People Management

• Lead and mentor direct reports.

• Support recruitment activities.

• Foster a high-performance culture.

• Ensure compliance with company policies.

Required Experience

• Minimum 9 years in technology.

• Minimum 4 years in a managerial role.

• Experience managing Data Engineering or Data Platform teams.

• Experience delivering enterprise Data Platform projects.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Strong experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, Git, and Jira/Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, big data technologies, and cloud computing.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in:

o Computer Science

o Computer Engineering

o Information Technology

o Cybersecurity

o Or equivalent.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Senior Data Platform or Data Engineering Manager.

• Experience leading enterprise analytics platforms.

• Strong cloud-native architecture expertise.

• Experience implementing data governance frameworks.

• Proven leadership of cross-functional engineering teams.

• Strong communication and C-suite stakeholder management skills.

• Experience with enterprise-scale analytics and data modernization initiatives.

• Knowledge of Saudi government data compliance frameworks (SDAIA, NDMO, NCA).
