Roles & Responsibilities

Department - Melting Shop Reports to - Melting Shop Manager Job Purpose Expertly manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of refractories across all steel-making processes. Outsource refractory repair tasks to external companies to maximize efficiency. Maintain high-quality standards for refractories and quickly provide solutions when issues arise. Job Responsibilities Adheres to EHS regulations & guidelines and maintains a safe working environment. Maintains high standard of quality for the supplied refractories according to work instructions and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates utilities samples collection, if required. Install, maintain, and inspect refractories used in steel-making processes such as EAF, LF, VD, ladle, and casting. Regularly inspect the wear and damage conditions of refractories, report parts that need repair. Outsource refractory repair tasks to external companies and manage and supervise their work. Quickly analyze causes and suggest solutions when refractory-related problems occur. Review and apply new refractory materials and technologies. Collect, analyze, and write reports on refractory-related data. Ensure efficiency and safety in steel-making processes through worker education and safety management, utility operators.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Degree in refractory technology or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in steel-making processes.
• Expertise in refractories and steel-making processes.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate and manage external companies.
• Hands-on experience and practical skills in fieldwork.
• Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Data analysis and report writing skills.
• Safety management capabilities.
• Experience in refractory management and maintenance.
• Experience in managing and collaborating with outsourcing companies.
• Preferred qualifications/licenses related to the field.
• Experience - Min 5 - 7 years experience required in Steel casting & forging Plant / Melting.
