Job Purpose :

The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, control, and issuance of materials, spare parts, chemicals, and consumables required for the operation and maintenance of the SWRO desalination plant.

This role ensures inventory accuracy, material preservation, and uninterrupted plant operation through effective stock management and coordination with maintenance, procurement, and operations teams.

Required Qualifications

3.1 Education

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in:
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Logistics
  • Business Administration
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (preferred for technical stores)

3.2 Experience

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in warehouse/storekeeping.
• At least 3–5 years in industrial projects, preferably:
  • Desalination plants (SWRO)
  • Power plants
  • Oil & Gas facilities

3.3 Technical Skills

• Knowledge of:
  • Spare parts for RO systems, pumps, and rotating equipment
  • Inventory control techniques (FIFO, FEFO, ABC analysis)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Familiarity with material coding systems

3.4 Certifications (Preferred)

• Certified Storekeeper / Inventory Management certification
• HSE training (e.g., OSHA or equivalent)
• Forklift operation license (if applicable)

4. Competencies

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure (especially during shutdowns)
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Basic knowledge of technical materials used in SWRO plants

5. Working Conditions

• Site-based role in an industrial environment (Ras Al Khair)
• May involve:
  • Handling heavy materials
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions
  • Shift work depending on plant operations
