Job Purpose:
- The Specialist – Bus Operations and Coordination will be responsible for the seamless operation of bus transportation services within the AMAALA project.
- This role requires effective planning, coordination, and management of daily bus operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transport for staff and other stakeholders.
- The specialist will be a key player in handling operational challenges, collaborating with internal and external teams, managing drivers and ensuring that service standards are met consistently.
- They will also contribute to improving bus operations and coordinating logistics to maintain optimal service delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate Daily Bus Operations
- Ensure smooth daily operations of the bus services, including scheduling, dispatching, and
- routing.Monitor service levels, ensuring that buses are running on time and safely while accommodating operational changes as needed.
- Address any issues such as delays, breakdowns, or unforeseen disruptions promptly to minimize service interruptions.
Service Management
- Maintain effective communication with dispatchers and drivers to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.
- Address any service deviations, including late arrivals, maintenance issues, or customer complaints, ensuring timely resolutions.
Customer Service and Issue Resolution
- Serve as a point of contact for any bus service-related concerns, responding quickly and professionally to internal and external queries.
- Resolve issues, complaints, or emergencies related to bus operations, ensuring minimal disruption to stakeholders.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and professionalism on all buses.
Operational Reporting and Data Management
- Compile and analyze data related to bus operations, including ridership, service delays, and fleet performance.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to the manager regarding operational performance, highlighting key areas for improvement or adjustments.
- Assist in resource planning by forecasting fleet requirements based on operational data and service demands.
Fleet and Scheduling Optimization
- Collaborate with management to optimize bus schedules and routes, adjusting based on demand and operational efficiency.
- Support the maintenance team by tracking fleet utilization and ensuring buses are regularly serviced to avoid breakdowns and delays.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to bus operations to enhance service delivery.
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
- Prior experience in managing and resolving transportation-related issues is a plus.
