Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems and equipment aboard maritime vessels.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the layout of piping systems.
- Measure and cut pipes to the required lengths, ensuring proper alignment and fitting.
- Assemble and weld pipe sections, supports, brackets, and hangers using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensure all work meets the specifications and regulations set by IACS and other relevant standards.
- Perform pressure testing on completed systems to ensure integrity and functionality.
- Collaborate with other team members, including welders, engineers, and other technical staff, to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines during all tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to piping systems, including leaks, blockages, and failures.
- Maintain and inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
Skills
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience working as a Pipe Fitter in the maritime industry, specifically on new vessels, military, or commercial projects.
- IACS Affiliation: Candidates must have experience working under any registers affiliated with the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding techniques, and industry standards.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and various weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with military vessels or high-precision projects in the maritime industry.
- Knowledge of advanced pipe fitting and welding techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
