On behalf an international construction company that specializes in delivering cutting-edge solutions in insulated building technologies we are seeking a Quality Control Inspector (Expanded Polystyrene, Manufacturing). Based in Khobar.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene,)products, ensuring compliance with SASO/ASTM standards.
- Identify defects or non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
- Record and report quality issues, collaborating with relevant departments to implement improvements.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of products.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Ensure adherence to standards and procedures throughout the assembly or production line.
- Review blueprints and specifications to verify product alignment.
- Document inspection results, including reports, reworks, waste summaries, and database entries.
- Train production teams on quality control measures to enhance product excellence.
- Propose improvements to manufacturing processes.
- Monitor equipment usage, ensuring safety and compliance with standards.
- Maintain measurement equipment through calibration and repairs as required.
- Utilize gauges such as calipers and micrometers to perform precise measurements.
- Collect and analyze statistical quality data.
- Assist in developing test methods and inspection plans.
- Investigate causes of product defects and reworks.
Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma/ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Management); technical certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control role, preferably within the plastic or EPS (Expanded Polystyrene,) industry.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other quality management systems.
- Proficiency in measurement units (e.g., cm, kg) and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments with varying conditions (e.g., dusty, hot, or cold).
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: ANY combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software tools.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative in addressing quality issues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Proficient in using measuring devices (e.g., gauges, meters, calipers) and interpreting blueprints with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD.
- Comprehensive understanding of EPS manufacturing processes and industry standards.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.
