Summary: Leads AFES in accordance with the mission and vision of the organization, develops and implements strategic business plans, explores, evaluates, and seizes new business opportunities, and adapts business philosophy in line with changing market trends. The role is also instrumental in building strong relationships with clients, monitoring operational performance, and setting mechanisms to address future business challenges with the objective of increasing AFES’s profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy Formulation
- Leads development of the Division strategy and a three-year business plan in accordance with the guidelines and objectives set by senior leadership.
- Identifies various factors (internal/external, political/economic) that may influence business plans.
- Ensures yearly objectives are met.
Business Development and Client Relationship Management
- Identifies and reviews strategically important business opportunities in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Evaluates these opportunities and shares findings with key stakeholders.
- Leads key negotiations with potential clients and business partners to pursue new opportunities while protecting the organization’s business interests.
- Establishes high-level relationships with potential clients, partners, key decision-makers, and industry leaders.
Financial Management
- Directs budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis activities for the Division.
- Reviews project analytical studies, monthly financial reports, cost analysis, cash flows, and gross margin performance.
- Ensures proper cash flow and receivables management throughout the year.
- Monitors and reviews cost overruns to meet financial targets and objectives.
Business Operations Management
- Assesses risks and suggests mitigation measures.
- Reviews proposals and participates in negotiations for major projects.
- Monitors targets for various business operation teams.
People Management
- Provides inspiring leadership to direct reports.
- Delegates departmental responsibilities effectively.
- Creates and maintains an environment that promotes positive staff morale and high performance.
- Mentors and motivates a competent, well-trained team capable of meeting current and future needs.
- Manages performance of direct reports through objective setting, continuous support, feedback, and formal appraisals.
Skills
Required Educational Level:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
Required Experience:
- 15-18 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior/country GM-level role in the KSA market.
- Comprehensive experience in the Oil & Gas upstream business is essential.
