Health and Safety - Trainer

  • Design, develop and conduct Occupational Safety & Health training programs for trainees and employees of industrial, commercial services or government establishments.
  • Design, develop and deliver programs including Short Courses related to OSH.
  • Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and evaluation of the effectiveness of such methods.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids, such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference practical works.
  • Lead safety training modules, hands on demonstrations, verification and testing of safe and proper use of equipment and monitoring the effectiveness of the training.
  • Develop proficiency in the understanding, use of and maintenance of equipment used in training courses as well as equipment, devices and supplies used in the field of environmental services, hazardous materials management, clean-up and emergency response.
  • Travel to locations, both in and out of the region, including occasional overnight and multi-day sessions, meetings, conferences, seminars, or other meetings.
  • Confers with management to gain knowledge of work situation requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.
  • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as those concerned with new employee/trainee orientation or refresher training on health and safety practices.
  • Conduct assessments/testing of trainees/attendees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Assist and tutor trainees to achieve required national or international qualification certifications.
  • Analyzing results and preparing reports for the higher management.
  • Ensure that Departmental Objectives and KPI’S are met.
  • Ensure the provision of needed materials, equipment and facilities as well as health and safety elements are taken care of for staffs and trainees.
  • Follows organization and departmental policies and standard operating procedures, and any applicable governmental laws and regulations.


Skills

  • NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years face-to-face training delivery experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ practical health and safety experience.
  • Bilingual Proficiency in spoken/written English and Arabic.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Health & Safety software systems.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills at all times.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform duties assigned with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Ability to produce creative ideas and collaborate with others to accomplish a common goal.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions correspondence and memos and write clear instructions & descriptions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, values teamwork, self-motivated, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
