Job Description: 

  • Medical technicians collect blood and other samples for the purpose of analyzing them for disease and other issues. If you choose a specialization, like a phlebotomy, your job may include some, but not all of the duties below, as well as different tasks. The list below encompasses responsibilities across various med tech jobs.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment, Draw blood, Apply dressing, Stain specimens, Study blood samples for transfusions, Assist OR doctors and personnel with gowns, gloves, and scrubs,Observe vital signs,Analyze test results and record data Use equipment like phlebotomy trays and chemistry analyzers, Test for drug levels in the blood, Test chemical content of fluids
