About the Company: A company operating in the mining sector is looking for a qualified Project Engineer to join its team, working on construction and infrastructure projects at a silica sand mine, contributing to the planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering and field works with high efficiency. We are seeking a Project Engineer with strong experience in execution, planning, and field work management, capable of monitoring projects, coordinating with teams and contractors, and ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Project Management and Execution: Supervise and monitor the execution of engineering and construction works on-site according to approved plans and specifications. Planning and Scheduling: Prepare and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, and ensure compliance with execution plans. Field Execution: Supervise excavation and backfilling works, internal roads, infrastructure works, and on-site construction. Team and Contractor Management: Follow up with work teams and subcontractors and coordinate with consultants and relevant departments to ensure work progress. Quantity and Cost Control: Survey quantities, follow up on payment certificates, and monitor project costs and Variation Orders. Quality and Safety: Ensure the application of QA/QC requirements and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards at all stages of execution. Reporting and Monitoring: Prepare periodic reports on work progress, completion percentages, challenges, and remarks, and submit them to management.
Required Qualifications: Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Experience: 5–7 years of practical experience as a Project Engineer in road, infrastructure, and construction projects. Execution Experience: Proven experience in planning, field execution, and construction management. Software: Proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project; AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency is preferred. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of excavation, backfilling, roads, base courses, asphalting, stormwater drainage, and infrastructure works. Project Management: Ability to follow up on quantities, costs, payment certificates, and variation orders. Skills: Leadership of work teams, field problem-solving, decision-making, and effective communication with contractors and consultants.
