Subject Matter Expert – Real Estate & Hospitality Investment Banking
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Engagement type: Part-time, long-term advisory Estimated commitment: ~10 days per month Duration: Structured as renewable phases, with a total potential engagement length of up to 18 months
Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert with a strong investment banking background in the real estate and hospitality sector to support a long-term advisory engagement in Riyadh. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in capital raising, capital structuring, and joint venture development, advising on strategic initiatives for a leading Sovereign Wealth Fund and large-scale real estate/hospitality developments. This is a senior, VP-level equivalent role (Associate Director level within a boutique investment bank context), suited to an established practitioner who can operate as a trusted thought leader both internally and with client stakeholders.
Topic Experience General corporate finance Financial modeling and financial analysis (credit and/or valuation) Strong understanding of debt and equity advisory, equity and debt financing markets and products, including structures and investor base
Industry Experience Generalist covering multiple sectors, with a focus on Real Estate and Infrastructure considered advantageous Specialization within Real Estate, ideally including experience structuring joint venture (JV) deals for land development with government entities and large-scale hotel/hospitality companies
Key Responsibilities Advise a leading Sovereign Wealth Fund on capital raising strategies, capital structures, and funding models Provide insights on how to raise capital, whether through debt or equity Develop optimal capital structures tailored to client needs Identify and recommend the best funding models Engage and interface directly with investors Act as a recognized thought leader within this specialist area, both internally and externally Manage client relationships, working collaboratively with project teams and bringing subject matter expertise to on-site engagements Build long-term relationships with clients, fostering trust, confidence, and satisfaction with the advisory work delivered
Candidate Profile Significant investment banking experience within real estate and hospitality Proven track record structuring JV transactions for land development involving government/sovereign counterparties and major hospitality operators Comfortable operating at VP/Associate Director level Available for a part-time, recurring on-site commitment in Riyadh
