About Ma'aden and the Geologist Role

We are seeking a Geologist to join our team in a full-time capacity, contributing to our operational excellence and growth.

Role Overview and Contribution

The Geologist will play a crucial role in supporting mine operations through geological mapping, data collection, and analysis. This position contributes to ensuring optimal mining practices, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and providing essential geological insights to drive operational improvements and resource model accuracy. The role involves site supervision, data interpretation, and collaborative work with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Conduct geological and structural mapping, along with sampling of the mine.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of geological data.
• Manage on-site samplers and spotters, collect data, and prepare end-of-shift reports.
• Perform Ore markups and supervise ROMPAD to ensure execution of the bleeding plan.
• Support the Senior Mine Geologist with grade control prediction, BMM, and daily mine operation reporting.
• Assist the mine geologist in planning RC grade control drilling and manage daily RCGC site operations, ensuring sample quality.
• Perform RCGC logging, follow up with the laboratory for sample dispatch, and validate databases.
• Provide geological expertise to ensure optimal mining practices and use geological software for data analysis and interpretation.
• Maintain accurate records of geological findings and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate effectively with mining engineers and other professionals on site.
• Collect weekly geology reports, compile them into a single report, and gather monthly operations data.
• Interpret gathered data, information, logs, and samples borehole drill cores using accepted geological techniques.
• Support model-mine-mill reconciliation and utilize results to drive improvements in Resource Models.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report the performance of direct reports.
• Monitor, evaluate, and apply current industry technical and operational best practices in geosciences.
• Organize processes for geological support across all mines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Geology.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in open pit or underground mining operations.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated integrity, ownership, effective communication, teamwork, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in technical report writing and data analysis.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Mine Safety Regulations and Industry Best Practices.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Geovia Surpac, Leapfrog, and MS Office Software package.
• Knowledge of relational databases, technology, and industry standards and best practices related to the collection, storage, and Production Geology.
