About the Storekeeper Role

Marriott International is seeking a Storekeeper to join The Ritz-Carlton team in the Red Sea region. This full-time role is central to maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring operational excellence within a luxury service environment. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a related field and will contribute to upholding the “Gold Standards” of The Ritz-Carlton.

Core Responsibilities

The Storekeeper will manage incoming merchandise and maintain organized storage, contributing to the smooth operation of various departments. Key duties include:

  • Receiving and staging merchandise by department, ensuring appropriate marking for placement and delivery to the correct department.
  • Stacking received merchandise on pallets or carts efficiently.
  • Completing requisition forms for inventory and supplies accurately.
  • Notifying management promptly of low stock levels.
  • Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Inventory Management and Quality Assurance

A critical aspect of this role involves meticulous handling of deliveries and maintaining high standards of product quality and safety, particularly for perishable goods.

  • Receiving deliveries, storing perishables properly, and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
  • Inspecting deliveries and dating items to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and overall quality.
  • Refusing acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
  • Adhering to all food safety and handling policies and procedures across food-related areas.

Workplace Standards and Safety Compliance

The Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and fostering positive team dynamics.

  • Organizing, cleaning, and sanitizing all refrigerators, freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains.
  • Removing empty pallets, cardboard, and trash, placing them in proper storage areas.
  • Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; completing all required safety training and certifications.
  • Following all company policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting company assets.
  • Communicating with guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting the team to achieve common goals.
  • Complying with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Physical Demands of the Role

This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks essential for managing inventory and navigating storage areas.

  • Reading and visually verifying information in various formats, including small print.
  • Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
  • Moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
