About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Medina is seeking a dedicated Assistant Consultant, Medical Oncology to join its full-time medical team. This role is central to providing high-quality medical care within the specialized field of Medical Oncology, supporting the hospital's commitment to patient well-being and clinical excellence.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Assistant Consultant contributes significantly to patient care and management under the guidance of a Consultant. Beyond direct patient interaction, this position involves supervising medical trainees and ensuring strict adherence to the current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the Hospital’s established policies and procedures. The role requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in a relevant medical field.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Consultant in providing comprehensive patient care and management within Medical Oncology, upholding Hospital standards.
• Deliver high-quality patient care across all aspects of Medical Oncology, consistent with approved clinical privileges.
• Provide inpatient and emergency room consultations promptly upon request, adhering to Hospital policy timeframes.
• Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of all medical records.
• Provide on-call service, ensuring availability and timely response as per Hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
• Perform other assigned clinical responsibilities relevant to the Medical Oncology specialty.

Training and Professional Development

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
• Actively participate in the department’s educational activities and training programs.
• Partake in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge, fulfilling all continuing education requirements.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this Assistant Consultant position are expected to possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in Medical Oncology or a closely related medical field. This experience should demonstrate a strong foundation in patient care, clinical procedures, and medical supervision.
