The Senior Water Sports Instructor is a site-based leadership role responsible for delivering and overseeing the highest standard of water sports instruction and guest experience across the designated asset.

This role combines advanced instructional delivery with on-ground leadership, ensuring all water sports activities are conducted safely, professionally, and in line with luxury hospitality standards. The Senior Water Sports Instructor also mentors junior instructors, supports operational planning, and contributes to the continuous improvement of programs and guest experiences within a premium marine tourism environment.

1. General Responsibilities

1. • Lead the delivery of water sports activities and instructional programs to the highest safety and quality standards.
   • Act as the senior on-water authority during activities, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and operational procedures.
   • Mentor, coach, and support Water Sports Instructors and junior team members.
   • Ensure all guest experiences are delivered in a professional, engaging, and memorable manner.
   • Support the Water Sports / Operations Manager in daily operational planning and execution.
   • Maintain a strong presence in the field, leading by example in guest interaction, safety, and professionalism.

1. • Assist in the setup, testing, and commissioning of water sports facilities and equipment.
   • Support the development of operational procedures, safety standards, and training materials.
   • Contribute to staff onboarding and training during the pre-opening phase.
   • Support cross-functional teams to ensure readiness of all activity zones and equipment.

1. • Lead and supervise daily water sports activities, ensuring smooth execution and guest satisfaction.
   • Deliver advanced instruction across multiple water sports disciplines (e.g., kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, towable activities, and others as required).
   • Conduct detailed guest briefings, safety demonstrations, and activity supervision.
   • Monitor environmental conditions and make real-time operational decisions to ensure safety.
   • Oversee equipment readiness, inspections, and maintenance coordination.
   • Support scheduling and allocation of instructors and guest groups.
   • Act as escalation point for operational issues, guest concerns, and safety matters.
   • Ensure all activities align with company SOPs, safety standards, and luxury service expectations.

1. • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to junior instructors.
   • Support performance improvement and skill development within the team.
   • Ensure consistency in training delivery, guest engagement, and safety standards.
   • Contribute to building a strong, professional, and safety-driven team culture.

1. • Ensure safety remains the highest priority across all water sports activities.
   • Enforce compliance with all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk assessments.
   • Conduct regular safety checks, audits, and equipment inspections.
   • Promote environmental awareness and responsible marine interaction practices.
   • Ensure strict adherence to company and regulatory safety standards at all times.

1. • Follow and enforce all company policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines.
   • Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, equipment usage, and operational reports.
   • Provide regular feedback and updates to management on operations, risks, and guest experience.

1. • Identify opportunities to enhance guest experience, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
   • Contribute to the development of new water sports programs and experiences.
   • Support innovation in activity delivery and guest engagement strategies.

Qualifications s Experience

1. • Certified Water Sports Instructor or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ISA, RYA, or recognized authority).
   • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in water sports instruction or marine tourism operations.
   • Proven experience delivering multiple water sports disciplines.
   • Experience in a supervisory or senior instructor role is highly preferred.
   • Valid First Aid and CPR certification (up to date).
   • Strong understanding of water safety, rescue techniques, and risk management.

1. • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
   • Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
   • High-level guest service mindset with luxury hospitality awareness.
   • Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
   • Ability to manage groups and ensure safe, high-quality activity delivery.
   • Highly responsible with strong attention to safety and detail.
   • Ability to work in dynamic outdoor marine environments.
   • Professional presentation and role-model behavior at all times.
   • Strong organizational and operational coordination skills.

1. • Additional water sports certifications across multiple disciplines.
   • Lifeguard or advanced rescue certifications.
   • Additional language proficiency (preferably Arabic).
   • Experience in luxury resorts or high-end tourism destinations.
   • Strong knowledge of marine environments and conservation practices.

1. • Operates within a luxury marine tourism and water sports environment.
   • Requires flexibility to work outdoors, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons.

1. • Involves direct guest interaction and leadership in live operational environments.
   • Exposure to changing weather and marine conditions is expected.
