Job Description:
- Developing and implementing laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Leading research initiatives, designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
- Evaluating new laboratory techniques, technologies, and equipment to enhance research capabilities.
- Developing and overseeing proficiency testing programs to assess laboratory performance and proficiency.
- Communicating laboratory findings, interpretations, and recommendations to healthcare professionals in a clear and concise manner.
- Coordinating sample accessioning, tracking, and storage to maintain sample integrity and traceability.
- Performing a wide range of laboratory tests, including but not limited to biochemical, hematological, immunological, microbiological, and molecular assays.
- Operating specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation to conduct tests accurately and efficiently.
- Preparing reagents, calibrating instruments, and following established protocols to ensure the validity and reliability of test results.
- Adhering to standardized testing procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Documenting test procedures, observations, and results accurately and comprehensively in laboratory records and information systems.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers and clinical staff to prioritize and expedite testing for urgent or critical patient care needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education / Professional Qualifications:
- Education Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Years of Experience: 5 years of experience within a microbiology unit.
