Process Safety Engineer at TASNEE

TASNEE, established in 1985 as the Saudi private sector's first fully owned joint-stock industrial company, is seeking a Process Safety Engineer. This full-time position is based in Al Jubail, Eastern Region, KSA, and reports to the Superintendent, Loss Control.

Position Objective

The primary objective of this role is to support the development and implementation of safety processes and procedures. This ensures a safe, incident-free operational environment and fosters a strong safety culture within TASNEE's facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review processes for process-related hazards and propose interventions to ensure safe operational activity.
• Incorporate safety precautions, mechanisms, and standards to ensure safe operating procedures and systems are in place and applicable to operational, engineering, and maintenance-related activities.
• Continuously update knowledge on international and industry safety best practices to make pertinent recommendations.
• Conduct detailed analyses of all operational, maintenance, and new project activities with potentially significant risk prior to commencement. Prepare risk assessments and suggest control measures. Maintain risk profiling of the organization with monitoring mechanisms during different stages of plant operations.
• Study existing and new engineering projects and processes from a design and construction perspective, suggesting and incorporating safety standards and specifications to ensure a safe working environment during construction and operating phases.
• Provide guidelines on safety aspects prior to and during alteration and modification to existing engineering systems to prevent any untoward incidents.
• Identify any new safety hazards likely to occur due to alteration or modification and recommend measures to control them.
• Regularly inspect sites and conduct surveys on accident-prone areas for compliance with safe working procedures and standards.
• Conduct investigations of minor incidents independently or major incidents as part of an investigation team.
• Brief team members on safety procedures and systems related to accidents, carry out root cause analysis, and draft investigation reports for management review.
• Assist with the development of awareness and training programs designed to instruct employees on Process Safety issues.
• Make recommendations on and implement department policies and procedures covering all areas of department activity to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective service to internal customers.
• Provide coaching to colleagues and share technical expertise with peers to promote teamwork and cooperation within the department and with other departments.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to guarantee safety, product/service quality, and environmental compliance.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant process safety role, demonstrating a strong understanding of safety processes and procedures in an industrial setting.
