Aramco Ruwan Drilling Company announces a Maintenance Supervisor position

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Perform emergency tasks according to the Task Distribution Plan (Station Bill) and Emergency Procedures Manual.
  • Active participation in the SOAR (Stop Observe Act Report) program and encourage employees to participate.
  • Compliance with the policies and procedures of the Risk Management System (RMS) and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), and contribute to its development and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise the maintenance system on the drilling rig and ensure its effectiveness and manage all related operations.
  • Collaborate with the technical team in risk assessment and evaluation.
  • Ensure safe and economical operation of mechanical and electrical equipment according to company policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Monitor periodic inspections of equipment and machinery according to the requirements of marine classification societies.
  • Ensure the implementation of maintenance shifts efficiently.
  • Monitor classification societies and certifying bodies, as well as Flag State inspection results and external audits when needed.
  • Perform tasks to the highest quality standards, focusing on getting them right the first time and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Comply with the company's code of conduct.
  • Ensure all temporary equipment used by contractors meets specs, is approved, and installed according to company and classification society requirements.
  • Supervise approval of external equipment tests, with the option to delegate this task to a qualified person.
  • Plan and carry out preventive and periodic maintenance for equipment according to the Planned Maintenance System and classification societies.
  • Coordinate with the Marine Facility Manager (OIM) or drilling operations supervisor regarding operational issues or maintenance work affecting other departments.
  • Ensure all technical modifications are approved at the authorized levels.
  • Ensure all hoses are defined, installed, inspected, and serviced according to manufacturer instructions, and ensure the efficiency of those responsible for them.
  • Issue or distribute work orders weekly or monthly, or delegate this task to department heads.
  • Ensure all maintenance work performed is recorded in the maintenance system by the responsible technician.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in mentoring programs when needed.
  • Demonstrate leadership by taking responsibility and accountability.
  • Participate in professional competency development programs.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure all training requirements are met according to the approved training matrix.
  • Ensure all maintenance team members possess the skills and expertise required to carry out assigned tasks under the company maintenance program.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in maintenance on a marine facility, or at least 5 years as a field service technician in companies such as NOV or Cameron or Seatrax or Letourneau or Caterpillar.
  • Certified by a professional institute in:
    • Heavy machinery.
    • Diesel mechanics.
    • Hydraulics.
    • Electrical.
    • Electronics.
  • Preference for military training in one of the above disciplines or an engineering license.
  • Complete on-the-job training (OJT) for the Maintenance Supervisor role.
  • Universal HVAC License is valid.
  • Experience in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Complete all mandatory job courses, including:
    • Rig Orientation.
    • SA-HUET.
    • H2S-SA.
    • OGUK Medical.
    • PHO.
    • SPAW.
    • SFA / CPR / AED.

Required skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Advanced knowledge of operation and maintenance of power generation and distribution and control systems, such as:
    • Electrical generators.
    • Variable frequency drives (VFD).
    • SCR systems.
    • Programmable logic controllers (PLC).
    • Switchgear electrical distribution panels.
  • Advanced experience in operating and maintaining drilling equipment, such as:
    • Cranes.
    • Top Drives.
    • Draw Works.
    • Mud Pumps.
